Nicolas Bannister, a veteran and isolated veteran who lives near Miami, overflowing by rising waters, is an expert in hazardous work: he allows clients to recall any memories they wish. His life changes when he meets a wonderful young woman named Mae. What is initially a simple question of being lost and found becomes a will. But as various client files accuse Mae of violent crime, Bannister must investigate the dark old world to reveal the truth about the woman who left him.
