Everything changed when Dr. Erskine recruits him to the secret Rebirth Project. Rogers proved his extraordinary courage, intelligence and conscience and went through the experience and his suddenly weak body strengthened to the maximum of human potential. When Dr. Erskine is soon killed by agents of Nazi Germany’s secret investigative division, HYDRA (led by Johann Schmidt, the Red Skull), Rogers is left as the sole owner who is initially abused as a propaganda mascot. However, when his comrades needed him, Rogers embarked on a successful adventure that made him Captain America, and began his war against Schmidt.
