MicrosoftDirectX Free Multimedia APIs are a group of free APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for programming graphics and sound. This allows developers, especially game developers, to easily create games with all the features of Windows. A large number of users don’t even realize that DirectX works – it only works when you need it, without telling you. Communicating with it is a little more complicated, and programming tools are needed to control the sound and graphics cards. DirectX is a technical tool that helps game developers communicate with sound and graphics cards. While it can be installed on any computer, most users will not need it. It works while you play games with DirectX and all. You just have to get to know it better if you want to program it yourself. It has one of the smoothest driving processes in this category. (Function () {(‘desktop-application-overview-page’);}); What is DirectX used for? DirectX is a group of Windows interfaces. Developers program the DirectX API, which allows its applications – usually games – to communicate properly with sound and graphics cards. For their part, sound and graphics card manufacturers are already familiar with DirectX, so they know what to do if programs with DirectX have access to their features. Do you already have DirectX? Since DirectX does not have an interface like other applications (e.g. not in your application list), you need to be more technical to check if it is already installed on your computer. To check, follow these steps: Click Start, click Run, type dxdiag, and then click OK. On the System tab, select the DirectX version that appears for the DirectX version. Check the different tabs for each version information in the DirectX file. When you have finished checking the version of the file, click Finish Installing DirectX. If you find that DirectX is not installed on your computer (or if the version is very old), you will need to download DirectX again to use it. Downloading is easy and as you would expect – you will download and run the .exe as usual. The installation is slow, which is a bit frustrating, and – beware – the app tries to install Bing during installation. How do you open the DirectX control panel? Since DirectX is not a regular application, you cannot open it in the usual way. Instead, click Start, and then type dxdiag in the box. Your computer will ask if you want to start DirectX. The window that opens is a very traditional Windows interface. All information it provides is for informational purposes only – lots of details about your system, display settings, features and rendering drivers, audio information, and current input devices. You are not communicating with this information – there is an error window and if you program and make a mistake, an error will appear here. You go back and fix it and the error is gone. Who needs DirectX? You may need DirectX in two situations. If you play games on your computer that require DirectX to work. You may already have it. If you are programming things that require access to sound and graphics cards, you may also need DirectX. Keep in mind that DirectX is notthe only tool of its kind. There are other APIs that can interact with graphics cards and most of them are more modern. You can compare it to legitimate applications like Runtime. This means that while you’re playing or developing a game or certain games (perhaps on older machines), you may desperately need technical tools that don’t typically require DirectX, this is a well -established technology over the past few years and is still powerful. The graphics and sound technology work very well (which is why it’s still relevant, even if it’s been a while), and the interface is very useful, albeit very ancient. But most of us will never see it – if you’re not programmed, you don’t have to open it, because it just runs in the background without you noticing. DirectX is actually not the kind of software you want or don’t want. If necessary, you need to install it and this is a painless experience. Recent Changes The latest version of DirectX improves Windows 10 compatibility and adds high -speed visualization (VRS) support. Other new versions have added DirectX Raytracing support, depth testing and programmable MSAAs.
