Story:

Alfred Kralik (James Stewart) and Klara Novak (Margaret Sullavan) are employed by Matuschek and Company in Budapest. Klara and Alfred are constantly at odds with each other, their heads are blunt and they do not agree with almost everything. Both are happy with their respective pen pals, who are welcome distractions in their lives. They know little, they are each other’s pen pals and despite external differences, they are unconsciously in love with their letters.
