You want it to be easier and safer. Only when you think you will not see another version of Internet Explorer in the next ice age will Microsoft impress the world with the release of its new browser.
For a long time many Internet users have been tired of waiting for Microsoft to update their technology, and have been looking elsewhere, mostly towards Firefox.
Now the king of the world is a great browser and is not eager to see his crown break, but can he do enough to win back his critics?
For starters, a better interface is definitely an improvement.
Microsoft generally rotates the menu bar and hides all the tools and features in a bunch of thumbnails that are clearly located in the upper right corner of the interface.
This allows you to view pages in a very large viewing area. IE also finally decided to support tab browsing. This includes new tabs for instant opening, as well as a smart quick tab button that opens thumbnails of all your open tabs on one screen, and, unlike Firefox, IE 7 has a close-up button on every tab.
You can even save a group of tabs as your homepage so that everything can be run on startup. We’ve also reviewed the print preview tool, which adjusts the page to fit your article. 7 has improved RSS integration. Every time you come across a website that supports RSS, the toolbar icon turns orange.
Click on it and you will be taken to a page that reveals all the feeds for this site. Click the subscription link to add it to your favorites.
You can also subscribe by clicking the small star icon on the left. However, unlike Firefox, there is no drop view of all items on the tape.
The options menu, opened by clicking the big star icon, is divided into favorites, ribbons and history.
Security is usually one of the special weaknesses of IE.
In addition to the pop-up blocker, version 7 also includes an anti-phishing filter. To try it out, we opened a well-known phishing website published on Phishtank. To our disappointment, the filter was unable to report most. Phishing protection may not have the strengths of IE 7s, but at least the browser has SSL 2 security protocol.
0 and 3.0 and TLS 1.0, like Firefox.
Despite all the improvements, IE is still not perfect. Like Firefox, IE does not pass the Acid2 test and does not even support the latest standards.
We find that IE is delayed and dragged when new tabs, toolbars, and new settings are opened. You can add a large number of search bar providers and add-ons from Microsoft sites, but they are still much smaller compared to Mozilla’s Firefox extensions.
Also, IE 7 is actually limited to those who have XP SP2, and for some reason you need to turn off the antivirus and restart your PC to install it properly (function () {(‘review -app-page-desktop’);}) ;
